Saturday, 6 September 2025, will remain a milestone date for the Fondation Le Camp. After more than a year of construction work, the renovated “Maison l’Orée” and a brand-new accommodation pavilion were officially inaugurated in the presence of cantonal and municipal authorities, donors, contractors, and many friends of the Camp.
This event marks the completion of the first phase of the project “Save Our Heritage”, aimed at preserving the historical character of the site while meeting modern expectations in comfort and accommodation.
A historical building brought back to life
Built in 1947 and listed as a heritage building, Maison l’Orée no longer met today’s standards and was hardly in use. Respectful renovation work has given it a new lease on life: it now offers 13 comfortable beds, a meeting room, and a small kitchen.
A new pavilion to enhance capacity and flexibility
In addition, a second building with 16 beds has been constructed nearby, seamlessly complementing the architectural identity of the lower part of the site. These two new facilities enable the Camp to continue fulfilling its mission: hosting groups of various sizes in a natural, functional, and welcoming environment.
A dynamic project shaped by youth
This positive momentum continues: since 30 June, a class from Berufsschule Wetzikon has been building a dry-stone wall as part of a hands-on training camp. This symbolic and practical work enhances the integration of the buildings within the landscape and promotes a traditional local craft.
A heartfelt thank you
The Fondation Le Camp warmly thanks all those who attended the inauguration, as well as everyone who contributed to making this project possible — donors, partners, volunteers, and staff.
The new buildings are now open for reservations, and we look forward to welcoming our next guests into this renewed setting — where heritage and modern comfort meet beautifully.
